Strong recommendations:

1) Spencers, in Omaha, at the Hilton Garden Inn. Having been twice in two months I can confirm it's a really good steakhouse with excellent service. An example of the service: even though they had them available in the kitchen, I was told not to order the oysters, as they weren't "up to the chef's standards."

2) AN amazing discovery: Deep Fried Peaches on a Stick! We were hipped to them at the Nebraska State Fair. Sorry, it's over now, you'll have to wait a year, but one guy on our crew had waited 4 years to return and remembered they were not to be missed. A fresh peach is stabbed on a stick, dumped in funnel cake batter, and fried until crisp, then served hot in a paper dish dusted with cinnamon sugar. Not to be believed, it's like fresh peach cobbler. The peach is hot, but not mushy, the batter crisp....Mmmmm.
